If I keep getting an exception error: routing problem, is that a cause of stability/network configuration?

Feels likely to me.
The udp message is sent from our DNS code. Maybe @erikcorry has more insight.

It looks like the network is down when the system tries to connect to the cloud.

So I think the exception is downstream of (a symptom of) the network instability.
